I think I may have shed a couple of tears at the end as I was queuing to drive into the school car park ;-; I love everything about this - I could even take the separation even though I'm usually a wuss about such things (as you well know). The fact that the emotions they feel for each other have survived all the time and distance just makes the reunion that much more poignant and affecting. Love this so much!!!!
The last two lines, the double meaning of "lucky" + the now, it fits so well with cherry blossoms, like welcoming the new year with something coming full circle <3
